Success Formula For All Times

Napoleon Hill's book, "Think & Grow Rich" is a motivation classic for salespeople and personal growth. The second chapter is very endearing to my heart because he gives you explicitly the step-by-step the plan of action for success. In so doing, he voids the argument for ignorance. People from all walks of life and occupation have used this formula successfully. The point is anyone wanting to succeed could and should use this formula to shorten their learning curve and lessen the blows from the school of hard knocks.

The formula by which DESIRE for freedom [financial, time, etc]can be converted into its physical equivalent, consists of six definite, practical steps, viz:

Fix/flood/dominate your mind with the exact things you desire. Saying "I want plenty or abundance or I want to spend more time with my family", won't cut it! You need to be exact. How do you measure "plenty" or "more"? Be definite as to the amount. There is a psychological reason for definiteness.

Determine exactly what value you intend to give in return for the thing you desire. There is no such reality as "something for nothing� on the platform for success. A passion for action is the foundation for success.

Establish a definite date when you intend to possess the thing you desire. You have to have a time line if not you will be dragging on in perpetuity. That is simply floundering.

Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action. Do not procrastinate.

Write out a clear, concise statement of the thing you intend to acquire, name the time limit for its acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for your acquisition, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it.

Read your written statement aloud, to yourself twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. AS YOU READ - SEE AND FEEL AND BELIEVE YOURSELF ALREADY IN POSSESSION OF THE THING.

It is important that you follow the instructions described in these six steps. It is especially important that you observe, and follow the instructions in the sixth paragraph. You may think that it is impossible for you to "see yourself in possession of the thing" before you actually have it. Here is where a BURNING DESIRE will come to your aid. If you truly DESIRE the thing so keenly that your desire becomes a passion, you will have no difficulty in convincing yourself that you will acquire it. The goal is to want the object of your desire, and to become so determined to have it that you CONVINCE yourself you will have it.

The point that should have come across very succinctly to the reader by now is that you are the one designing and carrying out these 'experiments' or explorations in your mind by yourself. The success formula is simply a method or procedure. At the time of writing this blog, if you google the word, "success", it brings up about 337,000,000 sites compared to 3,700,000 for 'success formula'! It is very easy to get lost in these massive numbers. So, I for one, I am glad that there is a success formula that I can plug in my own numbers. In this way you personify the success formula. Remember back in chemistry classes how you follow instructions in the lab manual step by step: Take a 10 ml test tube, add 2 ml. sodium hydroxide, etc ...

When you plug in your own values in the success formula, what you ultimately get is your unique personalized version! This means that right inside of each of us are the elements of success waiting to be harnessed. Napoleon Hill's success formula simply helps you develop a personal blueprint of your desires, a plan of action, a commitment to that plan, and a time line of action. All these steps help create a passion for action which becomes the driving force in converting your desires to its physical equivalent. This success formula is independent of location and time.

The world of wishful thinking rarely if ever produces the thing wished for. Remember the old English proverb and nursery rhyme, “If wishes were horses…” How apropos!

The mindset behind living in Hope Town is wishing for something but not doing anything to achieve it. This is really a no brainer because anybody can do that! It takes no effort to do that. Even babies who cannot talk cry when they are hungry to draw the attention of their parent or caregiver! There is thus a real divide between living in Hope Town and Success Ville. The operative word in Success Ville is action.

Life in Success Ville requires a purpose and a design to achieve that purpose. It is what I have emblematized as life “On Purpose By Design”. In this town, you know what you want. You may not know how initially but you learn and master how. When you do not know “how”, you are operating in darkness. You can get taken by any scheme. It is rare for any fly by night operation to make you rich because when the daylight comes, all the hidden machinations are exposed.The best initial decisive action to take is Get out of Dodge, which is Hope Town. That town is shark infested! A friend told me that recent reports have the number of alligators moving to Hope Town on the rise. If you would rather spend your time and effort fending off these cannibals, all I could wish you is good luck.

The next thing is to get rid of a “get rich quick” mentality. Here is why. Even if you get rich quick, you do not understand or have the mastery of the blueprint. You are susceptible to losing what you gat just as quick as you got them. Because you do not know how, you are not in control. For example, one of the pipedreams peddled around regularly is that their system will show you could set up a website in a couple of hours to sell one thing or the other. Okay, so what? It is traffic to the website that brings in sales. Because you don’t know how, the next thing is they tell you is to drive traffic to your website. Then again the proverbial question, how? You are left scratching your head usually to no avail.

But if you know how, you could build customers from the get go who want to spend their money with you. That bears reading over again. This is akin to fishing upstream instead of downstream. This is what knowledge can and will do for you! Yes, it takes time but you get to know what you are doing and how to do it plus it puts you in control. Oh the cost of ignorance! Do not become a watering hole for these scam artists to come to anytime they are thirsty. How long do you want to remain the ATM machine for these people? Anytime they want money, they insert your card with the PIN number, ignorance and viola, you spill out the money.

It is not as difficult to learn the how of online marketing as most people think. In kindergarten, they taught you ABCD... first and then words with each alphabet and later sentences; same thing here. There are experts that people call “gurus” today in many fields. I prefer the word mentors. These are people who have been there done that guys and gals who know the nuances of how to get it done. They will hold you by the hand and teach you step-by-step. It is not as difficult as most people think.

There are many tools on the internet today to get you started if you want to. I know of a comprehensive tool that you can use to learn how to generate customers without any cost to you for life! This is not one of those 30-day or time limited trial offer you see or hear of often. There is absolutely no strings attached. What I am talking about is a basic zero cost customers generating system. I want to emphasize the word customers not leads. You can upgrade the basic subscription with a small amount if you want to build an online marketing empire or as one of my mentors put it, to have sovereignty.

Living in Hope Town

I want to welcome and thank you for your interest in online marketing. At this point we want to examine the difference between freelancing on the internet and building an online business. Online business requires a purpose undergirded by a design. This design is the framework that defines how your marketing activities online are orchestrated. The end result is to attract, sustain and maintain satisfies customers.
Most wannabe online marketers live in “Hope Town”. The residents of this town have their desires and aspirations fanned by the glitzy and splashy internet marketing campaigns showing claims of successful online business owners shoving bundles of money in their faces with exotic sports cars, beautiful palaces by the beach or a private lake and a private jet. The driving force of the residents of Hope Town is dominated by wishful thinking.
The impression of overnight success with doing very little and in some cases absolutely nothing at all is created. Promises of building a website without knowing “how to” instantly is made to lure residents of Hope Town to cash in on their wishes. What usually happens is that Hope Town aspiring internet millionaires jump at these ads in droves and pump in hundreds and in some cases thousands of dollars. These ads work, if not they would not be running them. I was a Hope Town resident, so I know whereof I am speaking.
A defining characteristic of Hope Town residents is that after 3 to 6 months they find out that what they had bought cannot do the job it was bought to do and then they bail. In most cases, the same scam artists who sold them the pipe dream that did not pan out come back with another ad telling them why they have not been succeeding. Now they are introducing a brand new program that is a winner! A lot of Hope Towners have scar marks from being burnt by the internet scam artists from repeated experiences. If you care to listen, you will hear an earful of wailing stories.

How to Read Food Labels

If you are trying to lose weight, it is a good idea to learn how to read food labels. It would be difficult to keep track of every piece of food that passes your lips, but you should try to measure or count most foods and drinks until you get a good feel for portion sizes. You might be surprised to find out that many portions on fast food menus are actually equal to 2 or 3 "official" meal sized portions. Fast food is a bad idea by itself but if you super size everything you are doing yourself more harm than good and too much can have devastating effects to your diet. Even if the meal is satisfying for the minute. Those meals are loaded, and I mean loaded with fat, carbohydrates and calories not to mention preservatives and additives. It is ok to splurge every now and again but keep your splurges to a minimum. You can actually purchase food scales that are programmed with nutritional information if you want to really get into keeping track of what your eating. but you can take a simpler, easier approach and it should work nicely for you. Reading food labels is an easy and effective way to determine the right kind of food you want to buying at the grocery store to help with your weight loss plan. It lets you make sensible food selections. By looking at the "Nutrition Facts" section of the food label on each package or can, you can identify the amount of serving sizes provided in that product.

With food labels, are now easier to read and understand. You can quickly figure out the nutrition content of an item, how much of the can or package makes up a serving, how many calories in a serving, how much fat and carbohydrates and what kind of fat and carbs it includes. Usually, it contains the information on saturated fat, sodium, total fat, fiber, and cholesterol amount "per serving."

However, if you are not used to looking at the numbers than understanding and reading these food labels may be a bit confusing at first.

To help you get a better understanding of the meaning behind the labels here is a list.

1. Serving size

This is generally listed first at the top of the label.

The serving size is the recommended intake for this product based on specific guidelines taking into account whether this is a meal or snack item. However, it does not always reflect your actual intake. What some might consider a small 1 serving bag of chips may actually be 2 servings if you look on the back of the bag. Which means the nutritional information may be double what they at first thought. So double the fat, double the carbs and calories.

The serving size determines the amount of nutrients that you will take in. This means that if you will follow the serving size listed, you will obtain the nutrients as exactly as listed.

For instance, if the serving size says one serving size is approximately 15 chips (typical), that would mean you have to eat 15 chips and you have just eaten one serving. So, the amount of nutrients stated in the food label is the same amount that has entered your body considering the fact that you have just eaten 15 chips. Portions can be listed by piece, by oz, by grams, by cup, by tablespoon, pretty much by any measurement you can think of depending on the food.

2. Nutrients

This refers to the list of available nutrients in a the item. It is also where the nutritional claims of the product based on the recommended daily dietary allowance are stated. Usually, the nutritional amounts are based on both the 2,500-calorie diets and the 2,000 recommended dietary allowances.

In order to understand the numeric value of each item, you should know that the "% daily value" that the food label indicates is actually based on how a particular food corresponds to the recommended daily dietary allowance for a 2,000 calorie.

3. Ingredients

This refers to the list of the ingredients that were used to manufacture the product. The listing is usually arranged from the main ingredients that have the greater amount by weight up to the smallest or least quantity.

4. Label claim

This refers to the kinds of nutritional claims of a particular food item. For instance, if an item says it is sodium-free, it has less than 5 milligrams per serving or a low fat item actually contains 3 grams of fat or less.

Most people know that in order to burn more fat you need to increase your metabolism. Increasing your metabolism enables your body to burn fat and lose weight faster. Metabolism is the rate by which the body converts and uses energy. The food you eat provides the fuel. If you over eat or eat too much of the wrong types of food, much of that food will be stored for future use rather than converted into energy right away. It is actually very simple. There are several things that can affect the rate of your metabolism. Your level of stress can affect your metabolism and your overall health, so try to keep your stress level under control. If you are looking for a SoHo business, the internet is a great tool for young and old entrepreneurs alike. There is more information on such business ventures than you could ever hope to read. Building a Home Business?

Work, work work. Nothing comes to you for free. If you want success, you must work at it. Work at it as hard as you did in your 9-5. Put in the hours now so that you can play later. Some of you may have a family to take care of and may have to keep your day job for a while. Give it the hours that you can but find a balance. Don't neglect your work at home business but don't neglect your family either.

Set goals for each. Set specific times you will work and times you will spend with your family. You cannot get those years back. If you are able to go full time in your business then give it all you would if your boss were standing over your shoulders. It will take longer if you cannot yet commit to full time but it will happen if you are dedicated.

Write down what you want. Where do you want to be in a year, 5 years, 20 years. What do you want your work at home business to look like. Once you write this down you can start making a plan to achieve your goals. How much would you realistically like to see yourself earning and by when? Would you like a new home? A car? To be able to pay for your children's college in full? Nothing is too much or too little. This is what you want. Not what you think you should want.

It is also good to create small goals within larger goals, sometimes seeing your progress in small steps is all you need to keep you on track.

Remember, you can achieve what you want to in your work at home business. You just have to set the wheels in motion and keep moving forward. We all have our ups and downs, these are just stepping stones to achieving your goals.
